Out of Egypt by Ahmed Osman

The book in question is Out of Egypt by Ahmed Osman, for some reason the cover grabbed me and this book had accompanied me on my many travels but never opened. Muslim scholar Ahmed Osman argues in this very convincing piece about the Egyptian origins of Christianity having been covered up deliberately by the early Church at the time of the burning of the library at Alexandria, only now to be uncovered by modern-day archaeologists. He writes how concepts such as the holy Trinity were derived from Egyptian models (Osiris, Isis and Horus), how Horus’s virgin birth gave rise to the Christian parallel with Christ, how Akhenaten became the model for Moses and Tutankhamun the model for Jesus. Suddenly religious studies didn’t look so glum. Here’s a different take on all that I was taught to be present and correct, from my school days I would marvel at how simple things in society seemed impossible to solve (poverty, famine, war) yet man could accurately devise the truth from works of literature thousands of years old, translated from several different languages and keep up widespread teaching of this unique ‘truth’ and condition millions of people to believe in it without question. Amazing.

I’m asking questions, sifting through the fables in search of the ever illumination truth. I’ll keep you posted to what I find.
